Fees
Services provided by Registered Psychotherapist, as with all other allied health professionals, are not covered under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
Most private insurance plans, insurance provided by your employer or purchased on your own, do provided full or limited coverage for services provided by a registered Psychotherapist.
This coverage is usually up to a specified amount for each family member; please check with your employer or insurance provider.
Non-reimbursed fees may be claimed as medical expenses on your income tax returns. Please check with your accountant.
Length
Treatment Length: Length of treatment depends on a number of factors, including the nature and severity of the problem and the needs and goals of the client. Sometimes, referrals to adjunct services may be recommended if necessary.
Some people may only need a few sessions (e.g., 3-4) to meet specific goals or brush up on rusty skills whereas others may need to be in treatment for longer.
The number of sessions required is an ongoing and flexible discussion as therapy progresses
